We wish to invite you to our next event of 2017.
Coming up this month is a site visit we’ve been looking forward to all year – a visit to the James Hutton Institute site in Invergowrie. JHI are involved in engineering that you don’t typically see, so we decided it would be a great opportunity to widen our scope of Engineering in Tayside!
The Institute combines strengths in crops, soils and land use and environmental research, and makes a major contribution to the understanding of key global issues, such as food, energy and environmental security, and developing and promoting effective technological and management solutions to these.
The Institute is an internationally networked organisation and operates from multiple sites, including two main ones in Scotland at Aberdeen and Dundee. It employs more than 500 scientists and support staff, making it one of the biggest research centres in the UK and the first of its type in Europe. The Institute is one of the Scottish Government’s main research providers in environmental, crop and food science and has a major role in the Scottish knowledge economy.
For this event, we will be visiting JHI at their premesis in Invergowrie. Due to the nature of the premesis and our visit, we are currently only able to offer 20 spaces.
The format of the night will be as follows:
5:30 – 6:15 – Meet & Greet / Networking
6:15 – 7:30 – Introductory Presentations, Tour of the James Hutton Institute, Q&A Session
7:30 – 8:15 – Networking and Depart
PARKING
There is plenty parking available at JHI, and nearby on the streets where there is on street parking, subject to restrictions.
Further Information
If you have any difficulty, please do not hesitate to contact the TEN Admin at:
info@tayside-engineering.com
The TEN is a new and exciting networking opportunity, which will aim to encompass all elements of the local Engineering Community, including: local and international business, education and the supporting functions. We hope to host Presentation Evenings, Site Visits, Open Door Weekends and Social Events. However, the success of this aim will be very much dependent on TEN members.
